Nurse licensure exists to protect the public through the education, training and qualification of nurses. Licensing boards require that nurses maintain a high standard of care to keep their license current. Although it is commonplace for employers to verify nurse licensure at the time of hiring, a license status can change for a variety of reasons, including expiration and discipline. While nurses are responsible for reporting licensure changes to their employer, the burden ultimately lies with the employer to ensure that they provide licensed health care providers to patients.
At least that's what the courts say…

“To upgrade or not to upgrade? That is the question.”
…or at least the question many have been asking since IBM i 6.1 became available back in 2008. (Wow, how has it been that long?) Since then, much has been written and reported about the issues with third-party software compatibility with these new versions of the operating system. The concerns are understandably valid; I mean, we all have to continue running our businesses, right? So what good is a slick new OS if your application software will not function?
